How does Chess change kids’ lives? Listen to the CBC Here and Now feature on the Chess World Program.

The CIC has been running a Chess World curriculum program at the Jerome D. Diamond Adolescent Centre for the past two years. The CBC’s Jason Osler recently interviewed the Centre’s Robyn Cohen about the success of the program. Here’s what she had to say:

More on the program: Chess World’s Thinking Different® curriculum is an in-class enrichment program for schools. Children develop a wide range of life skills that will have a lasting effect on their personal growth and ability to interact socially, including goal setting, knowledge sharing, maturity, and responsibility. It was developed by Vice-President and Director of Curriculum, Tal Granite, as the basis for instruction in all of its children’s programs and events. The CIC is the only organization in Canada that is licensed to use the Chess World Curriculum.
