GM Elshan Moradi Abadi was the second Iranian-born chess grandmaster to join the highest echelons of competitive chess by hitting a rating of 2600 FIDE.

He now lives in North Carolina, USA, with his cat, Regina Queen of Hearts, and has been officially affiliated with the USCF since 2017.

Next Saturday, he will be playing a simultaneous exhibition against Sony Pictures Imageworks employees who are also campaigning to raise money for CIC.
