This Family Day (February 20, 2023) please join us for a fun afternoon of online chess, from 1:00 until about 4:30 Eastern time.
This is the latest in our series of rated online Swiss tournaments for young chess players. The tournament will be played on Lichess (a wonderful free chess website where CIC does all of our online teaching) and there is an associated Zoom meeting, making this a fun, social gathering of young chess enthusiasts!
Participants will play seven rounds of rapid chess, with each round lasting approximately thirty minutes. In between games, players are invited to join one of our experienced instructors on Zoom for fun and instructive chess puzzles, brief lessons, game analysis and more.
This event is ideal for any young player who can play a complete game, and is interested in challenging themselves. As this is an officially-rated tournament, it’s also a great way for players to build their Chess Federation of Canada rating.
The cost cost for the tournament is $19, with sibling discounts available.
On registration, you’ll receive a detailed tournament guide that tell you everything you need to know, but if you have any questions in the meantime, please contact our tournament director Keith Denning directly at keith@chessinstitute.ca.
