Chess is one of the world’s most popular games. In the right hands, it is also a way to develop life-defining values and skills.
The Chess Institute of Canada is the nation’s only charity that focuses on using chess to make better people – as well s better chess players.
More than just a game, chess teaches and reinforces skills and habits that serve a child well throughout life:
- Critical thinking, creativity, STEM and logic skills that can be applied through play and practice without additional screen time
- Socialization: learn with other kids in an online club setting, and develop skills and confidence to play in person with local clubs and groups, at schools, and in tournaments
Our online program offers levels of instruction from the very basics to the extremely advanced, and provides life skills and values that parallel that growing chess knowledge.
